Documentation for Intellect 4.10.4. Documentation for other versions of Intellect is available too.
Overlay is used for image processing using the Direct X video card and libraries, before it is displayed.
Overlay allows improving the image due to optimization of the pixel color settings. At the same time, the CPU’s load is reduced, as the video image is processed with the resources of the video card.
There are three overlay modes in INTELLECT™ software:
- Method1.Video signals from cameras are processed as a single video stream. This mode has the following features:
- In this mode repositioning (using the mouse) of the Viewing tile is not available. So if this mode is in use, then the Allow moving checkbox stays unchecked on the Monitor settings panel.
- In this mode the layout displaying 6 viewing tiles is unavailable.
- Method2 (Recommended). Video signals from cameras are processed independently from each other.
- None. Video signals from cameras are not processed by a video capture card.
As a rule, the Method2 is the optimal mode for overlay operation. This mode is supported by the most of video capture cards. If a video capture card doesn’t support the chosen overlay mode, then a video signal is displayed with a big slowing-down.
Note.
To select an overlay mode, do the following:
- Got to the settings panel for the Monitor interface object.
Select the required overlay mode in the Overlay drop-down list in the Basic settings tab (1).
Note.
There is a description of the selected overlay mode in the field below the drop-down list (2).- To save all the changes, click the Apply button (3).
The overlay mode is now selected.
