To configure motion detection tool, do as follows:
- Select the Motion detection object.
Configure parameters.
Parameter Description Enable Enable/disable detection tool. Record Object Tracking If you need to enable recording of metadata, activate this parameter. Alarm end delay Set a value in seconds for the time interval within which the detection tool remains triggered after motion stops. If motion is re-detected within this interval, no new event will be created. Camera position To reduce false alarms rate from a fish-eye camera, you have to position it properly. For other devices, this parameter is not valid.
Decode key frames If necessary, enable the video stream grooming. In this case, only the I-frames will be decoded. Decoder mode Select a processing resource for decoding video streams. When you select a GPU, a stand-alone graphics card takes priority (when decoding with NVidia NVDEC chips). If there's no appropriate GPU, the decoding will use the Intel Quick Sync Video technology. Otherwise, CPU resources will be used for decoding. Object tracking To get tracked objects and their parameters (percentage of the FoV width/height, color) displayed in the Preview window, activate this parameter. Motion mask In the preview window you can see the Motion Mask. To disable it, deactivate this parameter. Period Enter the time in milliseconds. This the time before the next video frame is processed. This value should be in the range [0; 65535]. If the value is 0, each frame is processed. Sensitivity: contrast
Sensitivity: size
he VMD analyzes differences between the current frame and the static background. Depending on a particular scene, we recommend the following sensitivity values for contrast and size:
Maximum sensitivity (street scenes where target objects are smaller):
Sensitivity: contrast = 16.
Sensitivity: size = 10.
Medium sensitivity (default values for generic scenes):
Sensitivity: contrast = 12.
Sensitivity: size = 9.
Low sensitivity (indoor cameras with an average distance to object of ca. 4m):
Sensitivity: contrast = 8.
Sensitivity: size = 8.
- By default, VMD (video motion detection) covers the entire FoV. In the FoV, you can set privacy masks − closed areas, inside of which you want no detection:
- Click against the detection tool.
- Select Add device.
- Select VisualElement.
- Select the VisualElement object.
- To select the area, move the intersection points .
- Click against the detection tool.
- Click to save changes.
The detection tool is now configured.
