Object tracking allows you to visually track the movement of objects in a camera FOV or in a video recording in an archive.

Attention!

Object tracking is available if a camera has at least one source of metadata (see Metadata database).

Object tracking has the following functions:

  1. recognizes the presence of a moving object and dynamically marks it with a transparent rectangle on the video image;
  2. displays the track of the object's movement.

Motion is detected based on the gradient of the inner-frame time difference of the video image.

To enable object tracking, select Show tracking in the context menu of the Surveillance window.

Object tracking functions are now enabled.

To disable object tracking, select Hide tracking in the context menu of the Surveillance window.

If you created at least one standard sub-detector for a given camera (see Standard sub-detectors), the parameters of the detector (areas, lines) along with tracking are displayed in the window when viewing live video.

Note

Skip areas are outlined in dotted black and green lines. Detection areas are outlined in black and gray lines.

If you created a license plate recognition detector for a camera (see Category: Vehicle), license plate is outlined in the video.

Attention!

To ensure correct display of the outline of a license plate, you must specify the Video buffering parameter of this camera in the range of 500–1000 (see Camera).

If you created a face detector for a camera (see Category: Face), a face is outlined in the video.

If you created a pose detector for a camera (see Configuring the Human pose detector), a human skeleton is outlined in the video.
