The POS terminal data collection utility is used to collect information from the POS terminal.

Attention!

To collect information from the POS terminal using the POS terminal data collection utility, the POS terminal must support data transfer via network or COM port.

To collect information from the POS terminal, do the following:

  1. Disable the Event Source object (see Configuring POS devices) and stop the server (see Stopping the server).
  2. Download the POS Terminal Data Collection Utility at the AxxonSoft website.
  3. Unzip the archive.
  4. Connect the POS terminal to the computer.
  5. Run the ProtocolLicenser.exe utility executable file.
The Read protocol from service window opens.
  6. In the Log file name field, specify the path to the folder where the file with the required information will be saved. By default, the file is saved in the same folder where the archive with the utility was unzipped.
  7. Specify the connection parameters if the POS terminal is connected to the computer via:
    1. COM port—in the COM tab.
    2. UDP protocol—in the UPD tab.
    3. TCP protocol—in the TCP tab.
  8. Click the Start button to start log collection.
  9. Start using the POS terminal, that is, issue receipts. Perform all possible operations, including cancelation, return, and so on.

    Note

    • Process of log collection is displayed in the Status progress bar.
    • To finish log collection, click the Stop button.

After performing all possible operations on the POS terminal, submit a request to https://support.axxonsoft.com with the following information:

  • problem description,
  • a collected LOG file,
  • copies of receipts,
  • protocol description if the POS terminal log requires software processing. You can get protocol description from the POS terminal manufacturer.
  • No labels
