  1. Import to the Backup archive. The archive can be recorded onto several drives/partitions. When connecting a camera is connected and the archiving is started the Backup archive requests the archive for the entire period later the date/time of the latest synchronization from the edge storage. This information is derived from indexes.activating the long-term archive, it asks the edge storage for the archive over the period when the camera was disconnected from the server.
    To configure import to the Backup archive, select and configure cameras for copying to the Backup archive – see the Selecting and configuring the cameras for the Long-term archive section, as well as set the schedule for archive copying when the connection is lost - see Configuring the schedule of the video archive copying.
  2. Import to the Main video server archive. There is a limitation – recording is performed onto one drive/partition. Video server always records the main archive. When connecting a camera is connected, recordings for the entire period later the date/time of the latest synchronization are requested from the edge storage. Synchronization date and time are stored in the  settings.xml file in the VIDEO folder.the main video server archive asks the edge storage for the archive over the period when the camera was disconnected from the server.

In both cases the archive is recorded to the edge storage only when it is disconnected from the Server only videos recorded when the Server was disabled are imported in order to avoid duplicate video duplication.
