The links are created in the Map Editoreditor. To run the Map Editoreditor, click Edit Selected Layerselected layer in the settings panel of the Layer object. When a link is established, a special symbol appears on the map. Clicking on this symbol takes the operator from the current layer to another layer.

To create a new link from the current layer to another, do the following:

  1. Select Links in the Map Editoreditor main menu, then select Add Link link with Layerlayer.

    The Link with Layer window opens, allowing to choose the layer to link to.
    There is another way of opening the Link with Layer window. In the Map Editoreditor, click anywhere on the layer map. The context menu will open. Select Add Link link with Layerlayer from this menu.
  2. Do the following in the Link with to layer window:

    1. If the switch to the layer of another map is to be performed, then select the required Map object in the Link dropdown list (1). If the switch to the layer of the same map is to be performed, then select an empty value in the dropdown list.

      The layer of another map is opened in this map box and not in the box where there is the layer the switch is performed from.


    2. Select a layer the switch is to be performed to (2).
    3. Enter the name for this link in the Link Namename field (3).
    4. If the link on the map is to be displayed as a polygon, set the Polygon checkbox checked (4).

      The color and shape of the polygon are set after adding it to the layer. By default, the link is represented by a green hexagon.

    5. If the selected layer the switch will be performed to, is on another map, then in the Color of active layer dropdown list select the color the link will be marked when this layer is active on the map (5).
    6. Click the OK button to create the link (6).

The feature menu appears when right clicking the polygon holding down the Ctrl key. The following features are available:

  1. Add vertex apex – add a new vertex apex to the polygon. A new vertex apex appears when selecting this menu item. One is to locate it left clicking on the map.
  2. Color – change the color of the polygon in the normal state when there are no alarms on the layer the polygon represents the link to. Set the color in the standard Color window in Windows OS.
  3. Alarm color – change the color of the polygon in the alarm state when there is an alarm on the layer the polygon represents the link to. Set the color in the standard Color window in Windows OS.
  4. Nontransparency – set the level of transparency in the normal state using the slider.
  5. Properties – display the properties panel of the icon on the right of the Map Editoreditor. Using this panel one can set the color and opacity of the normal and alarm states of the layer icon, as well as configure whether to hide frame limiting the polygon.

On By default the symbol of connection with this layer starts to flash if alarm is detected on the layer. If additional indication is required it is possible to configure alarm symbol of connection with layer. To do this place the file link_alarm.bmp containing some image characterizing alarm on the layer to the <Intellect installation directory>/Bmp folder. If such file is in the Bmp folder then symbol of connection with this layer will changed to image from the link_alarm.bmp file and start to flash while alarm on this layer.
