The objects are attached to the layers on the interactive map with the use of the Map editor utility utility.

Attach the objects to the layers of the interactive map as follows:

  1. Activate the the New object dialog  dialog window of the the Map editor utility  utility in one of three possible ways:
    1. Execute instruction of the main menu operation Objects operations -> New objectmain menu.
    2. Click the  button  button on the tools panel.
    3. Execute instruction of the context menu operation New object context menu  (is to activate with the it, right mouse click upon any graphical area-click anywhere on the map).
  2. Select the required object in the objects tree of the New object dialog the New object dialog box (1).

    Objects added to some layer of a map will be in bold in the objects tree when clicking the Set (3) button. When selecting the object in the tree of Position dropdown list, all maps and layers on which the selected object will be added will be displayed Click the Set button (3) to highlight with bold font the objects in the object tree which were already added to any layers of any maps. If you click the highlighted object in the object tree, the layers and the maps to which this object belongs, will be displayed in the Position drop-down list (4).

    To search the object by the name or a part of the name specify the info , enter it in the Search field (5) and click the Find button (6).

  3. As a result the name of the selected object is automatically displayed in the Name Name field (57).Set the dimensions of object’s symbol: fields Width (symbol’s width) and Height (symbol’s height) – See 4. Symbol’s dimensions are expressed in pixels
  4. Enter the icon shift along the X and Y axes in pixels (8). The first icon is added in such a way that the upper left corner of its rectangle is the point of the last mouse click. The subsequent icons are added with the specified shift.

    When value "o" is set in the fields Width and Height, object’s symbol is displayed in its original size.

    If the 0 value is specified in the X and Y fields, the object icons are displayed on top of one another.


  5. In the Type of display group (9) set the required checkboxes

    Set the required checkboxes checked in the Type of display group (7)

    . If several types are selected, then several separate icons of the selected object will be simultaneously added to the map. These icons can then be removed and edited independently of one another.

    Object name and text defined by script (see the Examples of scripts in JScript language section of the Programming Guide (JScript))

    The icons with the Text type of display can be used to place a comment on the map (containing descriptions, notes, any additional information). The text of the comment can be specified after adding the object using the Text information parameter on the Properties panel (see Editing object properties using the Properties panel)

    Note. If the Text type of display is selected, the object value will be displayed on the map as "Value = <value>". In order for an object value to be displayed without "Value =", it is necessary to change the HideAnalogName parameter value in the Windows OS registry to 1 (see Registry keys reference guide)

    If the Image and indicator or Text type of display is selected, the object's values/states will be saved after the Intellect restarts only if the object receives new values/states during the Map operation. If no new values/states were received before the Intellect closing, they are not be saved.

  6. Set additional information about the object if necessary in the field  Comment (9).

  8. In the Comment field (11) enter the additional information if necessary.
  9. From the Text position drop-down list (12) select the object name display position with respect to the icon: above, to the right, below, to the left.
  10. Click Paste button (13) or press Insert on the keyboard to attach the Click Paste button or press Insert on the keyboard to attach object to the layer of interactive map (10).
  11. Repeat steps2steps 2-8 for all the required objects.
  12. Click Click Close button  button to close the New object dialog  dialog window (1114).
