One can work with a virtual Video Capture Device in INTELLECT™ software package. This way assumes that INTELLECT™ operates in a test mode and consists of imitation of video stream feed to virtual Video Capture Device by playing back ready-made video recording. There are two types of virtual video capture devices in Intellect:
- Virtual (INTLIPINT). It is designed to play back video recordings in mkv, mp4 and avi formats for which DirectShow codecs are installed in Windows OS.
- Virtual. It is designed to play back video recordings in internal Intellect format and files in .avi format.

- Set the Use virtual grabber checkbox (the Video subsystem section in Tweake.exe utility), having shut down INTELLECT™ beforehand.
- Set the Virtual or Virtual (INTLIPINT) type of the video capture device depending on the type of the file that will be used for imitation of video stream feed.
- Specify the storage for video recording that is to be used for video signal imitation in the Basic settings tab of the selected Camera object.
