You can configure a configure common settings of a Hikvision reader via the settings panel of the Hikvision reader object, which is automatically Hikvision 26X Reader, Hikvision 28X Reader, and Hikvision K1T605XF Reader objects configuration panel, which are created on the basis of of the Hikvision 26X or , Hikvision 28X object after reading , and Hikvision K1T605XF objects manually or automatically after reading the configuration from the corresponding controller (see Network settings of the Hikvision controller and Configuring the Hikvision controller). As an example of configuring the common settings of a Hikvision reader configuration, let's consider a Hikvision reader connected to a Hikvision 26X controller.
To configure the Hikvision reader common settings, do the following:
- Go to the Hikvision reader setup 28X Reader object setup panel.
- In From the Direction drop-down list (31), you see select the reader's direction: Exit or Entrance. You can not change this value
- Go to the Common tab (2).
- The Description field (43) contains displays a brief description of the reader.
- The reader type is displayed in the Reader Type Nametype name field (54).
- Check the Enable Readerreader box (65) to activate the reader.
- From the OK LED Polaritypolarity drop-down list (76), select the buzzer's polarity on a successful card swipe.
- From the Error LED Polaritypolarity drop-down list (87), select the buzzer's polarity on a successful card swipe.
- From the Buzzer Polaritypolarity drop-down list (98), select a reader buzzer's polarity.
- In the Min. Card Swiping Intervalcard swiping interval, s field (109), specify the minimum time interval between two consecutive card swipes. You can set the interval from 0 to 255 seconds.
- In the Max. Interval interval for Password Digitpassword digit, s field (1110), specify the timeout interval between consecutive pressings of numeric keys while entering the password. If the time interval exceeds the timeout value, all previous entries are cancelled.
- Check the Failed Attempts Limitattempts limit box (1211) to automatically generate an alarm in case of exceeding the permitted number of card swipes set in the MaxTimes of Card Swiping Failure . times of card swiping failure field (1312).
- In the the Max Times of Card Swiping Failure field (13.times of card swiping failure field (12), set the critical number of consecutive card swipes to generate an alarm if the Failed Attempts Limit attempts limit box (1211) is checked.
- Check the Tampering Detectiondetection box (1413) to enable the detection of device tampering attempts.
- In the Detect When Reader Is Offline when reader is offline for, s field (1514) field, specify the timeout interval to de-activate the reader on lost connection to the Hikvision controller.
- Check the Connected by RS485 box (16) if the reader is connected through the RS-485 interface.
- From the Entrance drop-down list (15), select the section located on the door entry side.
- From the Exit drop-down list (16), select the section located on the exit side of the door
Check the Control Reader box (17) if you want the reader to assign card codes in the Access Manager module.
