The main motion detection tool processes key frames only (for codecs with interframe compression). If detection tool configuration as described above does not result in the proper detection tool operation and the detection tool does not trigger or triggers with a delay, it is recommended to reduce key frame rate for video camera (see Configuring video compression) or video analytics stream if the camera has multiple streams (see Configuration of multistream video).

For the MJPEG codec, the number of frames per second processed by the main motion detector is set using the DetectionFps registry key (see Registry Keys Reference Guide).
