To update INTELLECT™ software, do the following:

  1. Insert INTELLECT installation disk in the CD-ROM drive, its contents will be displayed in a dialog boxUnpack the installation kit as described in Getting ready for Intellect installation; the destination folder will show the contents of the kit.
  2. Run the setup.exe file to start the INTELLECT™ software installation procedure.
    As a result the dialog box of choosing language is displayed.
  3. Choose the language of INTELLECT™ software installation and click Install.
     
    As a result the Type of installation dialog box is displayed.
  4. Choose the type of installation needed.
  5. To log all installation events, set the Enable full installation log checkbox.

    While installing and uninstalling the software events are logged to Intellect.log and Intellect uninstall.log correspondingly. To collect log-files, the “Support.exe” tool is to be used (seeThe utility for collecting configuration data on servers and RWS for the Technical Support section).


  6. Click the Next button.
    The Selecting components for installation dialog box is displayed.
  7. Set the checkboxes next to the components that are to be installed.

  8. Click the Install button.
    The selected prerequisites and drivers will be installed.

    If Intellect is updated to a version whose second and/or third number is larger than that of the currently installed version (for example, from version 4.10.4 to 4.10.5, or 4.10.4 to 4.11.0), compatibility is lost with industry-specific vertical solutions built for old versions. This is why, during the installation process, you are asked to remove industry-specific vertical solutions.

    To remove industry-specific vertical solutions that are installed on the computer, select Yes. Otherwise, problems can occur when starting Intellect after update.


    When prerequisites and drivers are installed, the dialog box of INTELLECT update is displayed.

  9. Click the Next button.
    The dialog box of the type of update is displayed.
  10. Select one of the offered types of update.  The types of update are described in the table below

     Switch to step-by-step system configuration. Step-by-step configuration is described in Installation of INTELLECT™ software as a Server/Remote administrator workplace section.


  11. Click the Next button.
    When the system is configured, installation of INTELLECT™ software starts.

    The Software Installation dialog box is displayed.

    Error of driver installation for the FX4 card can occur while the Intellect software update on the Windows 7 SP1 operating system without Internet connection. To eliminate this error install the following missing Windows updates:

  12. To continue installation, click the Continue Anyway button
    As a result the Update Complete dialog box is displayed.
  13. Click the Finish button.

    Then the Axxon Driver Pack will be installed.


    The Installation complete dialog box is displayed. It contains the information about INTELLECT components mode (installed or not).

  14. Click the Finish button.
