ANPR works properly if the following camera specs, installation, and configuration requirements are met:

  • Character character height at least 10p, preferably 20p or more;
  • Minimum minimum resolution 1280*720, recommended 1920*1080;
  • Minimum minimum frame rate for Slow mode 5 fps mode, for Fast mode 20 fps;
  • Maximum maximum horizontal angle: 30°;
  • maximum vertical angle: 45°;
  • Expected expected image contrast: the contrast difference between characters of the number plate and the background should be at least 20 units with an image brightness scale of 0 to 255.       

 If it is necessary to determine the direction of movement of the vehicle, the following additional requirements should be met:

  • installation height of the camera is not less than 3 meters;
  • the angle between the camera and the direction of the road is not more than 30°;
  • minimum tilt of the camera.
