One can work with a virtual Video Capture Device in INTELLECT™ Axxon PSIM™ software package. This way assumes that INTELLECT™ Axxon PSIM™ operates in a test mode and consists of imitation of video stream feed to virtual Video Capture Device by playing back ready-made video recording. There are two types of virtual video capture devices in Intellect Axxon PSIM: 

1. Virtual bench. It is designed to play back video recordings in mkv, mp4 and avi formats for which DirectShow codecs are installed in Windows OS.
2. Virtual. It is designed to play back video recordings in internal Intellect Axxon PSIM format and files in .avi format.

1. Set the Use virtual grabber checkbox (The Settings panel of the Video subsystem section), having shut down INTELLECT™ Axxon PSIM™ beforehand.
   
2. Set the Virtual or Virtual bench type of the video capture device depending on the type of the file that will be used for imitation of video stream feed.
   

3. Specify the storage for video recording that is to be used for video signal imitation in the Basic settings tab of the selected Camera object.        
   
   If Intellect Axxon PSIM does not detect files for playback within 1 minute after clicking the Apply button, the file search is interrupted.
