The Email notifier The E-mail object is used to configure the electronic messages, which then can then be sent to a user as an automatic response when a detection tool is triggeredthe user when a macro or an automatic rule is triggered.
Creating the Email notifier object
To create the Email notifier object, do the following:
In the list of devices, click Create and select Email notifier.
- Click the Apply button.
- The Email notifier object will appear in the list of devices.
Creation of the Email notifier object is now complete.
Configuring the Email notifier object
To configure the Email notifier object, do the following:
- In the list of devices, select the Email notifier object which needs to be configured (1).
- Activate the Email notifier object by selecting Yes in the Enable list (2).
- In the Name field (3) enter the required name of the Email notifier object.
Select the mode for sending the e-mail notifications: through AxxonNet or through the specified SMTP server (4).
Note title Attention! To send notifications through AxxonNet, you should connect to it (see Connecting Axxon Domain to AxxonNet).
AxxonNet has a limit of 10 messages a day.
Info title Note Message through AxxonNet will be sent within a minute.
Configure the SMTP server, if this mode was selected (5):
- In the Outgoing mail server field, enter the outgoing email SMTP server.
- In the Password field, enter the password of the user account on the outgoing email server.
- In the Port field, enter the number of the port used by the outgoing email server.
In the SSL certificate field, specify the path to the SSL certificate file, if you use this protocol. If no certificate is specified, but the Use SSL parameter is enabled, then the email server certificate will be used.
- If you need to use SSL-encrypted connection when connecting to the outgoing email server, select Yes from the Use SSL list.
- In the Name field, enter the name of the user account used to send messages on the outgoing email server.
In the From field, enter the email address from which the messages will be sent (6).
Note title Attention! When using email notification, email servers may disable the user account or deny authentication in some cases. We recommend you to disable all security parameters in your email account beforehand.
In the Recipients field (7), enter one or several email addresses to which messages will be sent.
Click the Apply button.
Configuration of the Email notifier object is now complete.
Checking Email notification
To check the email notification from the Email notifier object, send a test message by clicking the Test button.
When you do this, the following message will be sent to the email address specified in the Recipients field (see Configuring the Email notifier object): "Test message".
