You can activate this parameter only at the 1+1 configuration setting stage or at the conversion to 1+1 configuration stage. Then you can activate this parameter only if you recreate the cluster.

To set Before setting up a cluster in this configuration, you have to must initialize the cluster after adding two Servers have been added.

In this case, the primary master node will reside be located on the Server from which the cluster was initialized.

Converting to 1+1 configuration

If a cluster has been was initialized on one Server only, do the following:

  1. Add the a second Server to the configuration (see Creating a Cluster).
  2. Click On the Configuration page, click CONVERT TO 1+1 button on the Configuration page.

In this configuration, a local Archive (video footage) will be automatically created as a 10 GB file located in the C:/temp_arch folder.

If a node is transferred to a backup Server, the primary archive must be replicated as a backup archive. To do it, follow the steps below:

Setting up archive replication

To set up archive replication, do the following:

  1. Combine the master and the backup nodes into one domain (see Adding a Server to an existing Axxon-domain).
  2. Create a local archive on the master node (see Creating archive).
  3. Add video cameras on the master node (see Adding and removing IP devices).
  4. Set up video camera recording to the local archive (see Configuring recording to an archive).
  5. Create an archive for replication on the backup node.
  6. Set up the replication from the local archive to the archive for replication (see Configuring data replication). The
  7. On the backup node, create an archive for replication (see Creating archives).
  8. On the primary nodes, configure the replication from the primary Servers' archives to the backup node's archive. The replication period should be set to Always(see Configuring data replication). You have to set the replication time period to Always.

Archive replication is available only with the Axxon One Universe license (see Axxon One license types).

How replication will run

When the master node is migrated to the backup Server:

  • a temporary archive will be automatically created in the С:/temp_arch folder of the backup Server as a 10 GB file;
  • video cameras will record into the temporary archive;
  • replication from the temporary archive to the archive for replication will be simultaneous.

If the master node is migrated bask to the master Server, the recording will be made to the local archive.

You need to use different archives to view camera recordings:

  • to view the recordings when the master node was on the master Server, use the local archive;
  • to view the recordings when the master node was on the backup Server, use the archive for replication (see Selecting an Archive)

If the backup Server fails while when the system is running, you cannot stop the primary master node.

If the backup server Server is downunavailabe, you cannot restart the primary master node will not restart.
