Intellect allows you to select the video image processing mode prior to displaying it using the video card resources and DirectX libraries.

The video image processing improves the quality of the displayed image due to optimization of the pixel color settings, spatial smoothing, and other processes of the graphics optimization. At the same time, the CPU’s CPU load is reduced, as the video image is processed with the resources of the video card.

When selecting a display mode, consider if it is supported by the installed video card. If you select a mode that is not supported by the video card, the video signal will not be displayed correctly on the Video surveillance monitor (with a strong slowdown).

There are three display modes in Intellect:

  1. Direct3D. In this mode, more modern, but less stable Windows graphics libraries are used. The mode is used when it is necessary to display the video from Fisheye cameras or the signal decoded using Intel QuickSync technology. This mode is also used if the DirectDraw mode is not supported by a video cardDirect3D is a recommended mode and selected by default. This mode uses the most advanced Windows graphics libraries for rendering 2D and 3D graphics. It is necessary to use this mode when displaying a video signal from fisheye cameras or a signal decoded with the Intel QuickSync technology.

The Direct3D mode will be enabled automatically when its usage is specifically necessary to display the video, for example, if there is a Fisheye camera on the layout. The manual modes selection is available for the cases when there are display problems, and it is necessary to switch modes manually.

DirectDraw (recommended). In this mode, more stable Windows graphics libraries are used. Currently, the DirectDraw and Direct3D features are about the same. This mode is used by default if Direct3D is not specifically required to display the video (see the note above)

If the fisheye camera added to the Monitor has the corresponding settings described on the Configuring fisheye cameras page, the Monitor switches to the Direct3D mode automatically.

  2. DirectDraw is a deprecated version of DirectX for processing 2D graphics. The mode should be used if the capacity of the video card is not enough to process in the Direct3D mode.
  3. Programmed. Video signals from cameras are not processed by a video capture card.

For correct display mode operation in Intellect, installed as a ServerService, set the 0 value for the NoDesktop text parameter in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer registry section. This parameter is responsible for displaying icons on the user's desktop.

To select a display mode, do the following:
