To calculate the disk space without RAID, select No RAID calculation (1).

Set the calculation parameters (2):

  1. Archive, days — the —the required archive depth in days.
  2. Hours per day — the —the average number of hours per day during which it is planned to record into the archive. 24 hours a day means permanent recording.
  3. Prerecord, sa video recording mode that prerecords an alarm event for a specified period before recording of the event begins. For example, if 60 seconds of prerecord is set and the event occurred at 9 AM, the recording of the event will start at 8:59 AM

Instead of Hours, you can use the % of day calculation. To switch, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings, the link is in the top right corner.
  2. Select the in % of day parameter for Set time of archive recording per day.
  3. Click the Save button.

Calculation with RAID

To calculate the disk space with RAID, do the following:

  1. Set the parameters of the archive depth and , the average number of hours per day during which it is planned to record into the archive, and the prerecord period, if necessary (1).
Archive, days — the —the required archive depth in days.
Hours per day — the —the average number of hours per day during which it is planned to record into the archive. 24 hours a day means permanent recording.

  2.  On the RAID level tab select  Select the RAID level (12). The following options are available:

    1. JBOD simplesimple consolidation of disks, which is not a RAID level.
    2. RAID-0 RAID RAID 0, an array of disks with data striping.
    3. RAID-1  RAID 1, an array of disks with data mirroring.
    4. RAID-10 RAID RAID 10, an array of disks with mirroring and striping.
    5. RAID-5— RAID —RAID 5, an array of disks with block-level striping and one checksum.
    6. RAID-6RAID 6, an array of disks with block-level striping and two checksums.
  3. Specify the Disk size (23) in the selected units (GB or TB). It is assumed that RAID will be built on the basis of disks of the specified size. The calculation results indicate the required number of disks and other RAID parameters (see Platform calculation results for Server and Server with viewing client).
  4. Specify Maximum number of disks per RAID group (34). Range of available values is specific to the chosen RAID level.
  5. Specify Number of hot spare disks per server (45). Available values are natural numbers in range  range from 0 up to 100.
