If you install Intellect on on a computer where an earlier version is used, then the installation will be in the updating mode.

To update Intellect, do the following:

1. Unpack the installation kit as described in Getting ready for Intellect installation. The destination folder will show the contents of the kit.
   
2. Run the setup.exe file to start the Intellect installation procedure.
   As a result the dialog box of choosing language is , a window for choosing the Installation wizard language will be displayed.
3. Choose the language of the Intellect installation Installation wizard and click the Install button.
    
   As a result, the Type of installation dialog box is window will be displayed.
   
4. Choose the type of installation needed.

5. To log all installation events, set the Enable full installation log checkbox.

   While installing and uninstalling, the software events are logged to Intellect.log and Intellect uninstall.log correspondingly. 6. Click the Next button.
   The Selecting components for installation dialog box is window will be displayed.
   

7. Set the checkboxes next to the components that are you want to be installedinstall.

8. Click the Install button.
   The selected prerequisites and drivers will be installed.

   During the installation process, you will be prompted to remove the installed vertical solutions: Image Added Two options are possible: If you click the Yes button, the vertical solutions will be removed during the update process. In this case, you will need to reinstall them after the update. You should also consider version compatibility: General information about product releases and version compatibility. If you click the No button, the vertical solutions won't be removed and will be compatible with the new version of Intellect after the If Intellect is updated to a version whose second and/or third number is larger than that of the currently installed version (for example, from version 4.10.4 to 4.10.5, or 4.10.4 to 4.11.0), compatibility is lost with industry-specific vertical solutions built for old versions. This is why, during the installation process, you are asked to remove industry-specific vertical solutions. 9. Click the Next button.

10. Select one of the offered suggested types of update. The types of update are described in the table below.

    The types of update	Description
    Save system settings	Use of settings chosen for installation of an earlier version.
    Configure system settings	Switch to step-by-step system configuration. Step-by-step configuration is described in Installation of Intellect as a Server/Remote Administrator's workstation.

    
    

11. Click the Next button.
    When the system is configured, installation of Intellect starts.

13. Click the Finish button.

14. Click the Finish button.

The dialog box offering A window prompting to restart the computer is will be displayed.

To correctly finish the installation of Intellect, you must restart the computer. If you don’t choose to restart now, you will have to do it yourself after the installation.

Intellect is now updated.
