This setting is used to automatically connect:

• the Client client to the Server server without having to re-enter entering the Server server name, username and password when starting the app;
• the Client client to Servers servers belonging to different domains (see Cross-System Clientclient);
• the Client client to the nodes of the FailOver failover system (see see Configuring Failover VMS).

If you connect automatically, the Servers servers specified in the Automatic connection parameters group will be used first. If these Servers servers are unavailable, the system will try to connect to the Servers servers from the Preferred servers parameters group following the set order (see Selecting Preferred Servers).

To configure the automatic connection, do the following:

1. Select the Options tab (1) → Automatic connection (2).

2. From the drop-down list (3), select the connection protocol to the server.
   Description of the protocol and recommendations for selection are given in the table.
   

   Protocol	Description
   TCP	This protocol is more reliable , but has a busy connection. We recommend selecting it for Servers servers with a small number of cameras
   UDP unicast	UDP protocol has a higher data transmission speed, but it is less reliable. The unicast scheme is used to transmit data to a single one recipient. You must select this protocol for a Server server with a large number of cameras and which that has several Clients clients working with it
   UDP multicast	The multicast scheme is used to transmit data to a group of recipients. This protocol is best suited for a Server server with a large number of cameras and which that has many Clients clients working with it. Attention! This protocol must be supported by To operate with this protocol, all network elements, including switches must support it

3. For automatic authorization when connecting to Serversservers, enter the username and password (4). If you leave these fields blank, authorization will be performed manually when you start the Clientclient.

4. In the Connection timeout field (5), specify the wait waiting period for a successful connection before considering the attempt unsuccessful. The default value is 60 seconds, the maximum value is 300 seconds (5 minutes). If you use this setting, an automatic connection attempt will occur immediately. If the connection fails, the Server server will wait for the time period of time (timeout) specified by the user (timeout) and repeat the connection attempt.
5. Specify the maximum number of automatic connection attempts after the specified timeout (6).
6. Specify the Servers servers to which you want to connect. For each Serverserver, do the following:

   1. Select a Server server from the list or enter the Server server IP address (7).
   2. Specify the port for connecting to the Server server (8).

      If you use the Cross-System Clientclient, you can connect to only one Server server of each domain (see Cross-System Clientclient). Configuring the automatic connection of the client to servers is complete. The next time you start Axxon One, the system will connect to the selected servers.

When you use the Cross-System

Configuring the automatic connection of the client to the nodes of the failover system

If you want to configure the automatic connection to a node of the

failover system, do the following:

1. Set the Discover cluster checkbox (111).

2. Enter the IP address of any Server server of the cluster (122) and click the Image Removed Image Added button.
3. From the drop-down list (133), select a node that you want to add to autoloading. 
4. Click the Add button.
5. Click the the Apply Image Removed Image Added button.

Configuring the automatic connection with the backup server

To automatically connect to the backup server if the main one is unavailable in the N+1 cluster configuration, do the following:

1. In the Automatic connection parameters group, enter the IP address and port of the main server, as well as the name of the node.
2. Click the Add Image Added button.
3. Set the checkboxes in the Main and Discover cluster columns.
4. In the Preferred servers parameters group, select a backup server from the list or enter its IP address and node name.
5. If necessary, change the default port for the backup server in the Port field.
6. Click the Add Image Added button.
7. Click the Apply Image Added button.

Configuring the automatic connection with the backup server is complete.

Changing the server port

To change the port of an the already added Serverserver, do the following:

1. Select the Server server from the list again (1).

2. In the Port field (2), specify a new number.
3. Click the Edit button (3).
