When you work with the Failover system, we recommend updating the Servers through a supervisor (see Updating Servers within a cluster).
Before you start updating, do the followingit is highly recommended to:
- back up your configuration (see Backup and Restore Utilityrestore utility);
- stop the Server (see Shutting down a Server) or, in case of the Failover system, the NGP_Supervisor service Stopping the server). If you run multiple Servers in the Axxon-domain, make sure to stop them all.

When you work with the Failover system, we recommend updating the Servers through a supervisor interface (see Updating Servers within a cluster). |
To update, do the following:
Run the new build installer. You do not need to remove the previous build.
Install the build using the previous settings, existing configuration and database. The procedure is the same as for a new installation (see Installation).
Note title Attention! - In Axxon One 2.0 and newer, there are no restrictions on database location. To reduce the load on the system disk, we recommend storing the metadata database and the log database on a separate hard disk.
- When you update Axxon One, only the basic DetectorPack is updated. If you installed the DetectorPack add-ons, you must update them to the version of the basic DetectorPack (see Installing DetectorPack add-ons).
