In the Archive and Archive Analysis Search modes, comments can be added both for specific frames and for intervals of time.
To add a comment for an interval, select an interval on the timeline, place the timeline indicator either inside the interval or at one border of it, and click the button.

If comments are added during playback in the Archive or Archive Analysis Search mode, playback is paused after the the  button is clicked.

In the Alarm Management management mode, operators can be required to give comments after classifying processing an event (see Configuring Alarm processing) or comments can be left in free form, before event classificationprocessing, by clicking the button. The comment applies to the entire duration of the alarm. You can add a comment in real time Live mode only if archive recording is enabled.
