You can add IP devices to the system using the IP Device Discovery Wizard. To open the IP Device Discovery Wizard, click on the Add device link at the end of the Server device list.

To start searching for devices, click the Search button. While searching, a progress bar will be is displayed.
To stop devices device search at any time, click the Stop button.

You can also specify the vendor and model of the device using the search in the input field.
If the device's IP address, Port, Vendor, Username and Password are set, the device Model model can be automatically detected by clicking the button.

1 | Keep current settings | The IP device is added to the configuration with the current settings, as specified in the web interface |
2 | Start with default settings | The IP device is added to the configuration with the default settings (the default settings are determined by Axxon One itself). Adding a device in this mode will change changes the current settings of the device specified in the web interface |
3 | Start with parameters | The IP device is added to the configuration with the settings that have been previously specified for a device of the same model in the configuration. Select a device of the same model (the "template device") in the list. Only devices of the same model are shown in the list of search results for choosing the template device. Parameters that will be set according to the template device: firmware, video stream settings, buffering settings, the Other settings (see The Camera object), and the Other settings for Microphone and Speaker objects, if these are configured for the template device. This mode is best when multiple cameras of the same model are in use used at a site. If this is the case, we advise to:

Info title Note The object ID can contain numbers, Latin letters and the "_" sign. Once the device is created, its short name will match the specified ID (see The Camera object). In this case:
- The camera ID cannot be changed, since it is used to maintain the connection with the archive when replacing the camera (see Saving the archive when replacing the video signal device).
- The short name can be changed, and the added devices will be sorted in the object tree in ascending order of this field (see The Camera object).
- archive selection and the recording parameters (see Configuring recording to an archive):
- No—camera is linked to the archive, no recording.
- Always—continuous recording.
- On motion (default)—for the camera you are adding, either an embedded motion detection will be automatically created (see see General information about embedded detection toolsdetectors), or a VMD Axxon One Motion detection tool (see Configuring the Motion detectiondetector) is automatically created. An automatic rule will is also be created for recording to the specified archive (see see Automatic rules). By default, recording stops when an event from the detection tool is finished.
Info title Note - When creating a new device, the pre-alarm time interval for video footage recording is automatically set to 3 seconds (see Configuring recording to an archive).
- The embedded motion detection will be is created automatically only for certain video camera models. For the information about support for embedded motion detection, see see the list of supported devices, the Analytics column. The embedded motion detection is configured through the web interface of a specific video camera. In other cases, a VMD tool will be Axxon One Motion detection tool is created.

Adding devices
During a single configuration change, you can add a single device or all devices listed in the search results (other than devices for which compatibility is not guaranteed). To add one device, click the button. To add all devices, click the Add all button.

When you add a device to the system, the Default permissions will be are applied, which are configured for each role (see Configuring user permissionssee General information about users).
Removing IP devices
To remove IP devices, select one or more objects in the hardware tree by left-clicking (while holding down the Ctrl key) and click the Delete button.
