By default, you can shut down Axxon PSIM without entering the operator password. To prevent To eliminate unauthorized shutdown of the video surveillance and audio control system, the shutdown function can be protected by you can configure Axxon PSIM to shut down after you enter a password. The following options for system shutdown are available:

If the operator is forbidden from shutting the system down, the Run menu of the Main Control Panel does not contain the Shut Down option. This menu item appears only after opening the administrator password window and entering the valid administrator password. To shut the system down, the password should be entered once more. Thus, it is recommended to use the option for shutdown by the administrator password, as well.

By default, the system is set for shutdown by any registered operator's password, regardless of the current authorized user.

To change the shutdown option, do the following:

1. Open the Users tab in the System Settings window (1).
2. Open the required User permissions object in the objects tree under the User permissions button (2).
   The settings panel for this object opens on the right side of the System Settings window.

3. To enable system shutdown by the current operator’s password only, set the Shutdown with operator password checkbox (3).
4. To enable system shutdown by the administrator password only, set the Shutdown with administrator password checkbox (4).
5. To forbid the current operator from shutting the system down, set the Shutdown with administrator password and the Disable re-registration checkboxes (4,5).
6. To revert to the default shutdown option, clear all the related checkboxes: Shutdown with operator password, Shutdown with administrator password, Disable re-registration (3,4,5).
7. Click the Apply button (6).

with administrator password only

1. Go to the Programming tab in the System settings window.
2. Go to the settings panel of the Security zone.

3. Set the Shutdown with administrator password checkbox.
4. Click the Apply button.

Shutdown with administrator password only is configured.

Other options for shutdown

1. Go the Users tab in the System settings window.
2. In the object tree, in the lower left part of the window, select the same-name object that corresponds to the account of operator permissions.
   As a result, the Main tab on the settings panel of the User permissions object opens.

3. Configure the shutdown of Axxon PSIM:
   • Clear the Allow downloading without operator password (the Users tab) and Shutdown with administrator password (theProgramming tab) checkboxes to shut down with operator password only;
   • Set the Shutdown with administrator password (theProgramming tab) checkbox and clear the Allow downloading without operator password (the Users tab) checkbox to shut down with operator or administrator password;
   • Clear the Allow re-registration (the Users tab) checkbox.
     In the latter case, the Run menu of the Main control panel doesn't contain the Shut Down option. This menu item appears only after you enter the administrator password in the password query window. To shut down the system, you must enter the administrator password again. Thus, we recommend additionally using the option of shutting down Axxon PSIM with the administrator password only.
4. Click the Apply button.
