General information

The Speaker object is used to configure audio notification that starts when a macro starts.

In Axxon One, you can create the following types of the Speaker objects:

  1. IP speaker device. It is created automatically if there is an audio outlet on an IP device.

    One audio outlet on an IP device corresponds to one Speaker child object of the Camera object.

  2. System speaker. It is created manually. Audio on the system speaker is played back using the server's sound card.

A Speaker object can play back audio notification files with the following extensions:

  1. .ac3;
  2. .amr;
  3. .avi;
  4. .aac;
  5. .aiff;
  6. .au;
  7. .adts;
  8. .caf;
  9. .dts;
  10. .flac;
  11. .gsm;
  12. .mkv;
  13. .mp3;
  14. .m4a;
  15. .m4r;
  16. .mp2;
  17. .oga;
  18. .ogg;
  19. .opus;
  20. .voc;
  21. .w64;
  22. .wav;
  23. .wma;
  24. .wv.

The following audio notification file encoding formats are supported:

  1. MPEG AAC Audio;
  2. MPEG-4 Video;
  3. MPEG Audio layer 1/2; 
  4. Vorbis Audio;
  5. Opus Audio;
  6. PCM S16 LE;
  7. PCM S16 BE; 
  8. twos; 
  9. FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec);
  10. AMR narrow band;
  11. DTS Audio;
  12. GSM Audio; 
  13. WavPack;
  14. A52 Audio (aka AC3);
  15. Yamaha ADPCM Audio;
  16. ADTS.

The audio notification file must be stored on the computer corresponding to the Server object on the basis of which the Speaker object is registered.

Creating and configuring the object

To create the Speaker system object, do the following:

  1. Go to

  6. Click the Create... link in the object tree and select Speaker.

    Specify the path to the audio notification file in one of the following ways:

    • Select any already added file from the file collection:
    • Add a file using the file collection:
      1. Click the Image Modified button.
      2. In the window that opens, click the Add button.

      3. In the File path field, specify the path to the audio file. As a result, the remaining fields will display the name of the selected audio file, size, and extension.

Checking the audio notification

To check the Speaker object, click the Test button.
