The image is compressed to reduce the size of the video stream. Video is not isn't compressed when it is displayed on the Monitor video surveillance monitor of the Serverserver.

An increase in compression rate leads to video degradation. Axxon PSIM™ PSIM software compresses video right after its digitizing it is digitized by the video capture card , prior to its before recording and/or before transmitting it via the network to the Remote Workstations.

Video Set the video compression rate is configured for each camera individually.

Axxon PSIM™ system uses the PSIM software uses the Quality setting for the compression rate parameter, which is reverse to the compression rate.

In most cases, the default Quality setting is sufficient.

Key frame rate settings

Axxon PSIM™ PSIM software uses Motion Wavelet algorithm for video processing and compression. Processed by this algorithm, the video is the sequence of key and delta frames. A key frame is a full frame of an image. A delta frame (differential frame) is an image containing only pixel blocks which that differ from the previous key frame.

Motion Wavelet algorithm guarantees consistency of a frame video quality regardless of key frame rate. With an increase of in motion intensity in a frame, the size of the delta frame is also increased increases, and the quality of video does not changeremains unchanged. With very intense motion (more than 70% of the frame is engaged), the setting of key frame rate is ignored, and every frame is processed as a key frame.

Axxon PSIM software sets the optimal frame rate value by default: every eight The best value of frame rate is set by default in Axxon PSIM™ software: every 8th frame is processed as a key frame. If there are no special requirements to video size and quality, it is recommended to keep we recommend keeping the default key frame rate.

Setting the delta frame creation criterion

Axxon PSIM™ PSIM software uses Motion Wavelet algorithm for video processing and compression. Processed by this algorithm, the video is the sequence of key −and and delta frames. A key frame is a full frame of an image. A delta frame (differential frame) is an image containing only pixel blocks which that differ from the previous key frame. To You can compare the pixel blocks of a key frame to those of the frame next to that follows the key frameone, by comparing the average brightness of these blocks is compared. If the difference in brightness exceeds a preset value, the block is considered to have fixed motion, and it becomes a part of a delta frame. Otherwise, the block is considered to have no motion, and it is not included into isn't included in the delta frame.

Legitimate values of pixel block brightness lie within 0-225 rangeare in the range from 0 to 225. The block becomes a part of the delta frame, by default, if the difference between its average brightness in the current frame and in the previous key frame exceeds 7 seven units. If this value is increased, Increasing the value of this parameter allows reducing the size of the delta frame is decreased, and and, hence, the size of the video stream size is consequently decreased, as a delta frame now contains less pixel blocks, by reducing the number of pixel blocks in the delta frame. Note that the blocks with useful motion data now are more likely to be excluded from the processed video and consequently there is , which consequently leads to video degradation. So, by reducing Reducing the value of the parameter setting that sets the criterion for including blocks to be included into in a delta frame , you may improve the image while building up allows improving the video quality by increasing its size.

The best optimal value of the parameter , which that sets the criterion for including blocks to be included into in a delta frame , is defined by the brightness gradient of the video background and the moving objects in a frame: . You can increase the parameter value with a high gradient and decrease the parameter may be increased; value with a low gradient the parameter value is to be decreased.

The Estimate motion parameter is ignored by the Motion Wavelet 7.1 and Motion Wavelet 7.1 Intr compressors.
