overview cameras to a PTZ camera and configuring calibration for the Tag&Track Pro feature

To use the automatic tracking feature Tag&Track Pro, you must create a logical connection between surveillance overview cameras and PTZ cameras, as well as set up precise positional correspondence between their fields of view. To do this, do the following:

  1. In the Cameras with TagTrack feature Tagtrack cameras section:
    1. Click the Image Modified button.
    2. Select the required surveillance overview camera from the list. To search for a camera, enter the Short name or Name (full or partial, see Camera). This parameter is case-sensitive.
  2. In the surveillance window of a PTZ camera, focus on any point:
    1. In the upper right corner, click the Image Added button.
    2. Place the cursor in the middle of the frame, hold down the left mouse button, and move the cursor so that the object that you want to track is in the center of the frame.
  3. In the surveillance window of the Surveillance camera Overview camera:
    1. Left-click the point corresponding to the current position of the PTZ camera. A Calibration point Image Added is added to the surveillance window. To delete a calibration point, click the Delete button.
    2. Set at least six calibration points in the surveillance window of the surveillance overview camera, focusing on different points in the surveillance window of the PTZ camera.
      Note
      titleAttention!
      • Setting calibration points is mandatory. Without this, the surveillance overview camera will not be bound to the PTZ camera.
      • We recommend setting 6 to 10 points. Adding more points can improve accuracy but also increases the risk of errors, which will degrade the overall performance of the feature.
      • The points must not be in a straight line in both the surveillance overview and PTZ cameras. They must be evenly distributed across the entire frame.
      • All points must be in the same plane (floor, ground). We don't recommend placing points in different planes (for example, some points on the ground and others on walls or poles).
  4. Click the Apply button.
  5. Test the calibration:
    1. In the upper right corner from the surveillance window of the Surveillance Overview camerawindow, click the button.
    2. Click each created calibration point in the surveillance window of the Surveillance Overview camerawindow. If the PTZ camera accurately positions itself at each selected point, the calibration is correct.
  6. Repeat the steps for each required surveillance camera.

Binding surveillance overview cameras to a PTZ camera and configuring calibration for the Tag&Track Pro feature is complete:

  • You have created logical connections between surveillance overview cameras and the PTZ camera that performs tracking.
  • You have set up the precise correspondence between the position of the PTZ camera and points in the field of view of each surveillance overview camera.
