To set up the detector parameters, do the following:

1. Go to the settings panel of the LPR channel object corresponding to the activated software module (see Activating the program module, used for identifying the plates).

The main parameters, forming the operation of LPR channel detector are the following:

1. Search threshold – sets the detector's sensitivity (the more parameter's value the less sensitivity).
2. Maximum width – the maximum allowed width of LP number (is set in percent of the general frame).
3. Maximum height – the maximum allowed height of LP number (is set in percent of the general frame).
4. Minimal width – the minimal allowed width of LP number (is set in percent of the general frame).
5. Minimal height – the minimal allowed height of LP number (is set in percent of the general frame).

These settings are set only with the use of Auto-Uragan program module. The Max. width is set with the use of VIT program module.

1. Parameters availability depends on activated software modules (for details, see The LPR channel object settings panel).

To set up the detector parameters, do the following:

1. In the System Settings dialog window, open the Hardware tab (1).
2. In the object tree on the left side of the Hardware tab (2). The settings panel of the selected object will open on the right side of the window.

3. Enter the value in the Search Area search threshold field (31).

4. Set the Max. width and Max. height parameters:4.1 Click the X

   1. At the appropriate moment, click the Stop video button and then hold the mouse while dragging it across the required area and click OK button.

      Results of setting the parameters will be automatically entered in the Max. width and Max. height fields.

      It is not recommended to set maximum sizes greater than required, as this slows down the processing, but does not improve the quality of recognition.

      
      

5. Set the Min. width and Min. height parameters by analogy with Max. width and Max. height parameters – see item 4 (5).

   If necessary set the Ignore unrecognized LPs checkbox (6).

   You can set unrecognized license plates ignoring when using CARMEN-Parking, CARMEN-Auto, ARH-Containers and VIT program modulesusing the Image Added button (3).

6. If necessary set the Cut area image with carvehicle checkbox (74).

   Setting up the frame with a car cut The Cut image with vehicle option is used only in case of when working with megapixel video surveillance cameras.

7. Click Apply button (85).

The LPR channel settings are now completed.
