Camera requirements for abandoned objects detectionVideo stream and scene requirements for the Object tracker and its sub-detectors |
Note | ||

| ||
The Abandoned object detection detector can operate only with the basic Object tracker detector. |
To configure Abandoned object detection, do as follows:
Before you create and configure the Abandoned object detector, do the following:
- Create the Object tracker detector and set its general parameters (see Configuring the Object tracker).
- Select the Object Tracker object (1).
- Configure some parameters of the Object tracker detector as follows:
Parameter Value Description Auto sensitivity Yes If auto sensitivity is enabled, sensitivity adjustments for moving and abandoned objects are not applied. To apply manual sensitivity adjustments, it is necessary to disable the auto sensitivity Long-time abandoned object detection (6). This value should be in the range [1, 100].Yes If you enable this and the Enable filter parameter (see Configuring the Object tracker), it can reduce the number of false positives during detection Abandoned object detection Yes Objects abandoned for 10 seconds or longer will be detected Alarm on object's max. idle time in area field (4) specify 60 Specify the time in
seconds. If seconds—if the object remains idle for the time longer than the specified, it will be detected. This value
should must be in the range [15, 1800].
Info title Note This parameter is used only for the Long-time abandoned object detection. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 15.
Abandoned object detection sensitivity 20 For this parameter to work
, it is necessary to first disable the
auto LongAuto sensitivity parameter.
To enable the Set the sensitivity for abandoned object detector and long-time abandoned object detection
, select Yes for the corresponding parameter (6)in the range [1, 100].
Info title Note - Under the Object Tracker object, create the Abandoned object object (see Creating detection tools).
Select object class (2).
- Select object color (3).
Select object type (4).
Specify the maximum height and width of the object (5). The value should This parameter depends on the lighting conditions and must be chosen empirically. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 20.
- Save the detector parameters by clicking the Apply button.
To enable the Abandoned object detection (2), select Yes for the corresponding parameter.

If you enable the Long-time abandoned object detection parameter (6) and the Neural network filter (see Setting general parameters of Tracker-based Scene Analytics detection tools), it can reduce the number of false positives during detection.
To enable the Abandoned object detection sub-tool, do the following:
To create the Abandoned object detector, below the Object tracker detector, click Create... → Abandoned Object.
By default, the detector is enabled and set to detect brought and abandoned objects.
If necessary, you can change the detector parameters. The list of parameters is given in the table:

Enable | Yes | By default, the detector is enabled. To disable, select the No value |

Basic settings | ||
Maximum object height | 100 | Set the maximum height of the object that must generate an event from the detector, as a percentage of the frame size. The value must be in the range [0.05, 100] |
Maximum object width | 100 | Set the maximum width of the object that must generate an event from the detector, as a percentage of the frame size. The value must be in the range [0.05, 100] |
Minimum object height | 0,1 | Set the minimum height of the object that must generate an event from the detector, as a percentage of the frame size. The value must be in the range [0.05, 100] |

By default, the entire frame is a detection area. If necessary, in the preview window, you can reduce the detection area (see Configuring a detection area) and/or set one or more skip areas (see Configuring a skip area).
