VI licenses

There are two types of VideoIntellect VI licenses: a hardware GuardantUSB dongle and a software key.

Using a Guardant USB key

Insert the USB dongle into the port of a computer with the Guardant drivers installed. Then launch Axxon PSIM.

VI software key

The license_wizard utility allows you to activate a license on your computer or another computer and to write/overwrite a license file onto a USB dongle for use on any computer.

Open the license_wizard utility located in the folder: <Axxon PSIM installation directory>\Modules64\DetectorExt\visdk\distrib.
Click the Settings button.
In the Server address field, enter: https://gkey.videointellect.com:9000.
Click the Back button.
Click the Activate License button.
1. To activate a license on your computer:
  In the On which computer do you want to use the license? section, select On this.
  In the Serial number tab, enter the serial number of the license, which can be obtained from a VideoIntellect manager VI manager.
  Click Get license.
2. To activate a license on another (second) computer:
  On the first computer, complete all steps of this instruction from 1 to 4.
  Click the Activate License button.
  In the On which computer do you want to use the license? section, select On another.
  On the second computer, launch the license_wizard utility.
  Follow all steps in this instruction from 1 to 5ai.
  Click Offline activation. The resulting request file can be used on any computer with Internet access.
  Transfer the request file to the first computer.
  On the first computer, click Select a file Continue.

  On the first computer, click the Select a file button to select the file generated on the second computer.
  Enter enter the license serial number, which can be obtained from a VideoIntellect manager VI manager.
  Click Activate a new license.
  Save the license file on the first computer.
  Copy the license file to the second computer.
  On the second computer, select the saved license file.
  As a result, the license will also be activated on the second computer.
3. To write or overwrite a license file onto a USB dongle:
  1. Insert the USB dongle into the computer.
  2. In the On which computer do you want to use the license? section, select Write a license to a USB dongle to use it on any computer.
  3. Enter the license serial number, which can be obtained from a VideoIntellect manager VI manager.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Write the license file to the USB dongle. The old license (if any) will be deleted.
