To provide distributed system operation, Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations interaction Clients interactions are to be configured. Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations Clients interaction means database replication (for Servers and Remote Admin Workstations only) and event exchange. For each Server, Remote Admin Workstation and Remote Monitoring Workstation lists are to be composed Client lists of interacting and non-interacting Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring WorkstationsClients are to be created.
Configuration of the surveillance system interaction is performed from the administering server Server or, in the presence of if there are dedicated subnets, from the node server Server or Remote Admin Workstation.
...
- Go to the Architecture tab in the System settings dialog box (1).
The Computer column displays the list of
namesnames of Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote
Monitoring WorkstationsClients registered in the Hardware tab (2). In the Computer column left click the name of the Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote
Monitoring WorkstationClient to change its interaction settings. Text in the selected cell becomes
gray.grey.
Info title Note To search computer by name use Ctrl+F hotkeys combination. The Search in tree window will be opened, enter the full computer name or its part in it and click the Enter button. Found computer will be highlighted in grey in the list.
- The With computer column displays the list of those Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring WorkstationsClients, with which the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation Client is able to interact (3).
In the IP address column, specify the addresses of the computers you are connecting to (4). By default, the IP address is to be specified. If the DNS instead of IP allowed checkbox is set checked on the settings panel of the Security zone object in the Programming tab, then DNS name can be specified instead of IP address. If computer addresses are set automatically (DHCP is configured), then IP address field can be left blank.
Info title Note If the computer name is correct, then the IP address can be filled in automatically. For this, specify the question mark "?" in the IP address field and press the Enter key on the keyboard. If the specified IP address is to be set for all communications with this computer in the distributed system, right-click in the IP address field and select Replace links from <Computer name> to <IP-address> in the opened feature menu (5). This is allowed if computers with one network interface are used in the system and the specified IP address is to be used to communicate with these computers.
Note title Important! When clicking the Apply button (see step 10), the changes will be saved only for the current computer. In order for the IP address to be saved for all computers in the distributed system, click the Apply button holding down the Ctrl key on the keyboard. If the box next the Connection column and the row, corresponding to the Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation Client is checked, then the data on system configuration of the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation Client with any Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation Client is exchanged (6). To forbid exchange of configuration data with the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient, set the checkbox in the Connection column unchecked.
Info title Note. Server or Remote Admin Workstation always exchange configuration parameters with Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient, even if the Connection checkbox is unchecked for this Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient. If the box next to the Send events column and the row, corresponding to the Server or Remote Admin Workstation is checked, then events are exchanged between selected Server or Remote Admin Workstation and any Server or Remote Admin Workstation (7). To forbid event exchange with the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient, set the checkbox in the Send event column unchecked.
Info title Note. Server or Remote Admin Workstation always exchange configuration parameters with Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient, even if the Send events checkbox is unchecked for this Remote Monitoring WorkstationClient. Info title Note. In order to set all checkboxes in the Connection or Send events columns, highlight a box in the required column and click Ctrl+A. To set all the checkboxes unchecked, highlight a box and click Shift+A. - If modems are used for connecting the distributed system components, then fill in the Connection, User and Password fields in the Hardware tab of the Computer object according to the Windows modem configuration used.
- Repeat steps 2-5 for each twain of Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations, to disable their interactionClients.
- Click the Apply button.
Interaction of the distributed video surveillance system components is now configured.
Let’s consider setup of a Server and Remote Monitoring Workstation Client connection via video gate as an example. A diagram of interaction of relevant components is shown in the figure.
...
According to the diagram, shown in the figure above, interaction must be disabled between the server (SERVER1) and Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1). As a result, the Architecture tab is to display the settings:
- For the video gate (GATE), interaction is to be set with the Server (SERVER1) and with the Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1).
- For Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1), interaction is to be set up with the video gate (GATE), and interaction with the server (SERVER1) is to be disabled.
- For the server (SERVER1), interaction is to be set up with the video gate (GATE), and interaction with the Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1) is to be disabled.
The Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1) Computer object in the Hardware tab in the System settings dialog box on the server (SERVER1) will not be displayed in the Intellect software package.
However, if the Send events checkbox is set (the Connection checkbox is to be deselected), the Computer object corresponding to the Remote Monitoring Workstation Client (MN1) will be displayed on the Hardware tab on Server (SERVER1) tab but it will be marked with and the object name will be highlighted by grey color. This indicates that administering of the given object is forbidden.
