Number of IP devices connected to one Server depends on TCP/IP network bandwidth (see Requirements for TCP/IP Network bandwidth for video signal transferring section) and functions performed on the basis of these devices.  For instance, virtual memory consumption (for video.run process) increases when VMDA detectors are in use (see Configuring smart video detection tools section). One camera with configured VMDA detector can use 30-40 Mb ( depending on camera resolution) of virtual memory. At most 2 Gb of virtual memory is allocated for the video.run process. Enable 64-bit modules if more than 25 Tracker objects are to be used on one Server with video resolution higher than 800x600 (see the Configuring of using 64-bits modules section).

For proper video recording and playing back time that is set on IP camera In some cases it is necessary to enable the synchronization of the Server and IP device time (if the device supports this setting):

  1. In some cases (for example, if there is

  2. For the Intellect with embedded IP device storage, it is necessary to synchronize the time between the Server and the device.
  3. If there is no time synchronization for some IP devices, events of the onboard analytics may work incorrectly in Intellect.
