One can work with a virtual Video Capture Device in INTELLECT™ software package. This way assumes that INTELLECT™ operates in a test mode and consists of imitation of video stream feed to virtual Video Capture Device by playing back ready-made video recording. The following video recordings are played back:There are two types of virtual video capture devices in Intellect

  1. Virtual (IPINT). It is designed to play back video recordings in mkv, mp4 and avi
  2. Video recordings of internal INTELLECT™ format;
  3. AVI-files in formats for which DirectShow filters ( codecs ) are installed in Windows OS.
  4. Virtual. It is designed to play back video recordings in internal Intellect format and files in .avi format.

Video recordings with B-frames are not supported.

Virtual Video Capture Devices do not support multistreaming. To ensure correct operation of a virtual Video Capture Device, including video displaying and archiving, disable multistreaming (see Configuration of multistream video).

It is not recommended to use LAV Splitter for playing clips in the Virtual Video Capture Device. FFDSHOW filter is preferable.

 If only Windows Media Player 11 (or its older versions) is installed on Windows OS to view video recordings, then it is to be updated to Windows Media Player 12 or DirectShow filters (codecs) of third-party vendors are to be in use.

  1. Set the Use virtual grabber checkbox (the Video subsystem section in Tweake.exe utility), having shut down INTELLECT™ beforehand.
  2. Set the Video Capture Device typethe Virtual or Virtual (IPINT) type of the video capture device depending on the type of the file that will be used for imitation of video stream feed.
  3. Specify the storage for video recording that is to be used for video signal imitation in the Basic settings tab of the selected Camera object.
