Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) is a technology available on some Intel processors, that provides hardware acceleration for video encoding /decoding. QSV offloads video encoding/decoding to a dedicated hardware CPU core, providing faster results and reducing the video footprint on server CPU performanceand decoding. This technology provides faster and more energy efficient processing of video content.

To use Intel Quick Sync Video, make sure your system meets the following requirements:
Since QSV is incorporated into the graphics processor, your CPU must have one (iGPU). The CPU has an integrated graphics core with Intel Quick Sync Video support.
Info title Note You You can check if the CPU supports QSV Intel Quick Sync Video here.
Note title Attention! For For H.265 and H.265+ video formats, Intel Quick Sync Video technology is supported only on Intel processors with microarchitecture: Braswell (only decoding), Cherry Trail (only decoding), Skylake, Apollo Lake, Kaby Lake, Gemini, Coffee Lake and newer microarchitecture.
- The mainboard supports iGPU the GPU core (includes Flexible Display Interface).
The Graphics graphics driver supports QSV Intel Quick Sync Video. We recommend using the latest version of the Intel HD Graphics Driver.
Info title Note You can also update the driver automatically using the the Intel Driver Update Utility utility.
To activate the Intel QSV enable Intel Quick Sync Video in Axxon Next you need to, do the following:
Enable using the integrated graphics option core in the BIOS settings.
Info title Note Depending on the BIOS version, it the option may be named differently (iGPU , Internal Internal Graphics , Integrated Graphics Graphics Adapter - – PEG).
- In general, the simultaneous use of the integrated graphics unit (iGPU) and external GPU has to be avoidedIt is not allowed to use an integrated graphics core and an external graphics card at the same time. In this case, to use Intel QSVQuick Sync Video, do as followsthe following:
- Enable Multi-Monitor in the BIOS settings.
Connect a “Fake/Virtual” Monitor/Display on Windows and then connect it to your iGPU and select Extend desktop to this display in the Multiple displays list.
- Go to Settings → Options → User interface (1–2).
In Windows OS connect a virtual monitor to the integrated graphics core and extend the desktop to it.
- In Axxon Next, go to Settings → Options (1) → User Interface (2).
- Set the Enable hardware decoding Select the Enable Hardware Decoding checkbox (3).Click Apply to save the changes
- Click the Apply button.
Intel Quick Sync Video in Axxon Next is enabled.
