General information
Creation and configuration of the Camera object is done in the You can create and configure the Camera object on the Hardware tab. The objects object tree of a camera is generated automatically according to its camera functions that are integrated into Axxon One (the presence of alarm inputs, relay outputs, a PTZ device, etc.and so on).

parameters
When After you have added a camera to the configuration via the IP Device Discovery Wizard (see Adding Searching, adding, configuring and removing IP devices), you can edit the camera's parameters. The camera parameters are grouped as follows.
Object identification parameters
In the Object identification group, you can enter a camera name , and a short name and a comments.

By default,

a short name is a camera's ID. The camera ID cannot be changed since it is used to maintain the connection with the archive when you replace the camera (see Saving an archive when replacing a video signal device). You can change a short name, and the added devices will be sorted in the object tree in ascending order of this field.
The full name of the

camera in the

object tree is displayed in the <Short name>.<Name> format.

You can use the camera's short name in keyboard shortcuts (see Notes regarding hot key actions).
You can also disable a Also, you can disable the camera by selecting No in the Enable field.

Every camera enabled in the system (including analog cameras, see The IP Server Objectobject) is a video channel in terms of licensing (see Axxon One licensing). Disabled cameras are not subject to licensing. If you run out of camera licenses, disable offline/unused cameras. |
Object features parameters
In the the Object features group, you can see the following camera propertiesparameters:
The IP address (assigned automatically and can be changed if necessary).
- The port used to transmit data between the
- a camera and the
- Axxon One (this value is set to 80 by default ,
- but can be changed if necessary). Initially, the port number is set via the camera's Web
- web interface.
- The MAC address.
- Manufacturer, model, driver version, and current firmware.
- The number of the video channel (for an IP Server
- server).
Device serial number (for Axis devices only, see Axis IP Devices).
You can also customize a number of options configure parameters shared by all video cameras in this group:
- If you want to use camera settings without overwriting them with the default settings specified in Axxon One, select Yes in the Use device settings field. This parameter is a reverse parameter of the Send settings to device checkbox, that is, when you enable one option, the other is automatically disabled, and vice versa.
- If you want to interrupt video streaming from the camera to the Server whenever it is not needed, select Yes for Break unused connections (1).
- server when the camera isn't used by the system, select Yes in the Break unused connections field.
The following conditions must be met for the video stream transmission to be interrupted:Note title Attention! When you enable the Break unused connections parameter, additional time is required for stream initialization (to create a connection, request a stream, and so on) to display, start recording, or process a stream with a detector.
- Video stream isn't displayed on either client or Web-Client layout
; - .
the - Video stream is currently not being recorded into an archive
;- .
the - Video stream is currently not being processed by any
detection tool.- After starting the Client, the default setting is to display video only after the first I-frame (key frame) is received. If the stream comes with a relatively long GOP length (Group of Pictures) or GOV length (Group of Video Object Planes), i.e. the number of P- and B-frames between I-frames in the stream, the video may be not available for a minute. In this case, select Yes for the Low GOP keyframe rate setting (2). This will reduce the waiting time for video by pushing the preceding I-frame that can be stored in the memory buffer on the Server. In some cases, the I-frame will not be buffered, but in most cases this means that it will soon be received from the device.
- detector.
Conditional interruption of video transmission from a camera to the Server, if:the video stream is not displayed on either Client
Authentication parameters
In the In the Authentication group, you can set the username and password to connect to the camera.
If the username and/or password for connecting to the camera are different from the factory settings, select No in the Default field and enter the current credentials.
Note | ||
---|---|---|
| ||
If the camera supports the Digest HTTP - authorization, add the symbol " : " character to the last character of the password. |
Video buffering parameters
If you want to accumulate the data received from a camera to the buffer on the clients and transfer them for processing from the bufferTo enable video buffering on Clients, set the buffer length in milliseconds in the Video buffering group. This value should must be between 50 and 1000 milliseconds. If the value 0 is value is selected, video buffering is disabled.
Video stream parameters
In the the Video stream settings group, you can see video image parameters (contrast, brightness, color saturation, etc.and so on). When configuring these, you can look up their descriptions in Axxon One interface. For more detailed information, please refer to the camera manual.

---|---|---|
| ||
You cannot edit these parameters if you added the camera in the Keep current settings mode (that is, with the parameters that were set in the web interface (see Adding , see Searching, adding, configuring and removing IP devices). To be able to configure these parameters in Axxon One, you need to set the the Send settings to device checkbox. checkbox. Once you set a checkbox for a camera, the checkbox is also set on all its channels and child objects. |
Panomorph view parameters
In the In the Panomorph group, you can configure fisheye cameras (see Configuring fish-eye fisheye cameras).
Other parameters
In the the Other group, you can configure the parameters for the devices connected via the RTSP protocol (see Configuring connection of devices via RTSP).
Alternative view parameters
In the the Alternative camera 1 field, you can specify any camera in the current domain that can replace this camera on the layout when it isn't connected.
Geolocation parameters
In the the Geolocation group, you can specify the coordinates (latitude, longitude, azimuth) of the camera location (the coordinates are used when adding the camera to the geomap, see Adding video cameras and changing size of their icons on the map).
Info | ||
---|---|---|
| ||
When you specify the coordinates, only 6 decimal points are taken into account. |
In a special case, when configuring an alarm layout (see Configuring Alarmed cameras layout), in these fields, you can specify the closest cameras to this one for the simultaneous display.
Configuring video stream settings
You can configure video streams below the Surveillance window. If a camera supports multistreaming, you can configure two video streams separately: Main stream and Second stream. If necessary, you can configure additional video streams using the Add video stream field. When creating an IP device with a main video stream, a stream with a higher resolution is selected. To configure video streams, you should make sure that the Send settings to device checkbox is set.

In most cases, the following parameters are set for video streams: bitrate, compression rate, frame rate, and resolution. Detailed information on configurable parameters can be found in the official reference documentation for the camera. |

|
By default, to use the video stream when displaying in the Auto (GreenStream)/High quality/Low quality modes, the Yes value is set in the Use for GreenStream field. If you set the No value, the stream is excluded from display in Auto (GreenStream)/High quality/Low quality modes (see Selecting video stream quality in a Surveillance window (GreenStream)).
If you configure video streams in the camera web interface, it is necessary to set the real value of the expected frame rate in the corresponding field to correctly display the video stream status on the Health Board (see Viewing camera status).
You can also change the video stream settings by sending an HTTP request to the device (see the manufacturer's official documentation) using macros (see Executing a web query, Starting an external program on Servers, Starting an external program on Clients).
