Record to archive is performed on a loop in the Intellect software package (see the General information on video archiving section). Therefore old archive records can be replaced by new one. But sometime it is required to protect important records against loop recording. In such case rights for protecting files against rewriting are needed.
Protected files are replacing to the PROTECTED folder in the VIDEO folder on the disk with archive. While disabling of protection file is placing back to folder from which it was taken if it exists. If this folder was removed because of all files in it were rewrote, then file will stay in the PROTECTED folder but won't display in the Monitor. Later this file will be deleted by loop recording.
To issue permissions for rewrite protecting of archive files, do the following:
- Go to the Users tab on the System Settings dialog window (1).
- In the objects tree located lower than the User permissions button on the Users tab select the same-name object corresponding to the Operator access permissions which are to be changed (2).
- Settings panel of the User permissions object will display in the right side of the System settings dialog window.
- To allow Operator protecting of archive files against rewriting, set the Allow rewrite protection checkbox (3). Don't set this checkbox if operator should not have this permission.
- To allow Operator to disable protection of files protected against rewriting set the Allow to disable file protection checkbox (4). Don't set this checkbox if operator should not have this permission.
- To allow Operator to export protected files, set the Allow export checkbox (5). Don't set this checkbox if operator should not have this permission.
- Click the Apply button.
Setting permissions for Operator to protect archive files against rewriting is completed.
