Selecting disks to store the archive of the Backup archive module

In Axxon PSIM™ software, the backup copy of the video archive for the Backup archive module is stored to local and network disks and to connected USB storage. Backup files are stored in the VIDEO folders on these disks.

By default, Backup archiving is disabled.

To select disks to store the archive of the Backup archive module, do the following:  

1. Got to the settings panel for the Backup archive system object.
   

2. Names of local (net, USB) disks available for storing the archive of the Backup archive module are given in the Disk column of the Record to disks table (1).

   Attention!

    It is necessary to connect net disks via a command prompt with Administrator’s rights for Windows Vista and Windows 7 OS with enabled UAC. The way of UAC enabling is described in the Connecting network disks in Windows Vista and Windows 7 OS section.

   Note.

   To use net disks for a Backup archive, set UNC paths to them in Axxon PSIM™ software. Details on working with net disks in Axxon PSIM™ software (installed as a Service) are given in Working with network disks of Axxon PSIM™ installed as a Service section.
3. Free space on disks (in GB) is given in the GB column (2).
4. In the Video column, set the checkboxes for disks selected for storing the archive of the Backup archive module (3).
5. To add a net disk by giving the UNC path, do the following:
   
   1. Go to the last line in the Disk list and click the down key.
      
   2. Specify the path to a net file in the appeared line in the Disk column. The UNC path is set in the "\\server_name\share_name" format, where the "server_name" is the name of file server and the share_name is the net name of general folder.
   3. In the Video column, set the checkbox for the created disk.
6. To save the changes, click the Apply button (4).

The disks for storing the archive of the Backup archive module are now selected.
