Previous page Video stream and scene requirements for the Motion detector and its sub-detectors  Configuring the Motion detector Next page

Requirements for the operation of the Motion detector and its sub-detectors are given in the table:

Object images
  • Image isn't noisy and isn't distorted by artifacts of the compression algorithm

  • The speed of object movement in the image must not be less than 1 pixel per second

  • For the object to be detected, the duration of its visibility must be at least 8 frames

  • When the object moves between two adjacent frames in a certain direction, its distance of movement must not exceed its size. This condition is necessary for the correct calculation of the object’s trajectory (track)

Some requirements depend on whether you use the Motion detector only or its sub-detectors (see Standard sub-detectors). The difference in requirements is shown in the table:

Size of objects in the imageThe width and height of the objects in the image must be not less than 1% of the frame size (if resolution is over 704x576 pixels) or 15 pixels for lower resolutionThe width or height of the objects in the image must be not less than 1% of the frame size (if resolution is over 1920x1080 pixels) or 15 pixels for lower resolution
