Documentation for Axxon PSIM 2.0. Documentation for other versions of PSIM is available too.

In Axxon PSIM, you can use modules specialized for working in 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. The video.run and vmdadb.run modules, codecs, part of IP cameras and video capture card drivers are migrated to the 64-bit platform.

Modules specialized for working in the 64-bit system allow removing the restrictions on the number of connected and simultaneously displayed video channels in Axxon PSIM. The use of 64-bit modules allows the system performance improvement up to 10% compared with 32-bit modules.

Some modules of the vertical solutions don't support 64-bit mode, while others, on the contrary, only support 64-bit mode. For more information, see the documentation for the corresponding vertical solution in the documentation repository here.

By default, 64-bit modules are loaded in Axxon PSIM, and if they are not available, the corresponding 32-bit modules are started.

Attention!

If two detectors of DetectorPack are created in the configuration and one supports 32-bit operation while the other supports only 64-bit operation, then the detection module starts in 32-bit mode, and the 64-bit detector won't operate (similarly for other vertical solutions within the same module).

We recommend using 64-bit modules in the following cases:

  1. When you want to display a large number of cameras simultaneously (over 100 cameras).
  2. When you want to display a large number of cameras in ultra-high resolution (over 50 cameras with 5 MP resolution in format without partial unpacking).
  3. When you want to use a large number of channels of smart detectors with search (over 25 Tracker objects on the server when video resolution is higher than 800x600).

Note

There is no 64-bit decoder for WS7 and WS17 cards with hardware compression. So video from these cards isn't displayed on the remote client when you use 64-bit modules.

To run 64-bit modules, do the following:

  1. Go to the settings panel of the Computer object (1).
  2. Set the Run x64 modules checkbox (2).
  3. Click the Apply button (3).
  4. Restart Axxon PSIM.

As a result, modules specialized for 64-bit operating systems are loaded. If a 64-bit module isn't found, the corresponding 32-bit module is started.

Configuring the use of 64-bit modules is complete.
