In Axxon PSIM, you can set the recommended period of storing the video and audio archive by a camera during synchro recording. To do this, use the Store no more than and Store no less than parameters:

  • The Store no less than parameter allows storing the deeper archive for the selected camera by means of archives of other cameras. We recommend setting the Store no less than parameter no more than 30% of cameras on each server in the distributed system, as this is an advisory setting. If there is not enough space for archive recording, then the setting is ignored, and loop recording doesn’t stop anyway (see General information on video archiving). When the setting is ignored, the Event viewer displays the 'Ignoring "Keep no less than"' message.
If you create at least 10 cameras on the server, then the corresponding warning appears when attempting to set this parameter for more than 30% of cameras on the server after you click the Apply button.
  • You can disable it using the NotifyAbout_arch_days parameter of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AxxonSoft\PSIM\Video registry key (see Registry keys reference guide).
  • The Store no more than parameter allows specifying the time period after which you must remove the archive. You can remove the archive earlier than the specified time period if it is required by the loop recording. Checking for files that must be removed is performed every 10 minutes at system time (starting with the 1.0.0 version—every 10 minutes after starting Axxon PSIM). If the removing process takes more than 10 minutes, the next check starts 10 minutes after the end of the current removing.

Attention!

You must use this parameter carefully and don't change it dramatically downward. For example, if one TB of archive is recorded by the camera and the archive depth is 360 days, and the user sets the Store no more than parameter to 10 days, then it results in a one-time removal of big data that takes a lot of time, during which some frames can be skipped.

Note

The Store no less than and Store no more than parameters determine calendar time. For example, if you set Store no more than two days, the archive files are removed exactly two days after they are recorded, regardless of how many hours of recording they contain.

Set the FileSystem.MinMaxHoursFromNow=0 parameter of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AxxonSoft\PSIM\Video\FileSystem registry key to enable time counting from the last archive record timestamp (see Registry keys reference guide).

To configure the camera archive depth, do the following:

  1. Go to the settings panel of the Camera object.
  2. Go to the Advanced settings tab.
  3. In the Store no less than field, specify the time period within which you want to store on the server the video archive of the camera, as well as the audio archive during synchro recording.
  4. From the Store no less than drop-down list, select the units for the Store no less than field: Days or Hours.
  5. In the Store no more than field, specify the time period of storing the camera archive, after which you must remove the archive of this camera.
  6. From the Store no more than drop-down list, select the units for the Store no less than field: Days or Hours.
  7. Click the Apply button.

Configuring camera archive depth is complete.
