In Axxon PSIM, you can enable the output of captions with information about the displayed video stream. The captions are displayed in the Surveillance window on top of a video.
You must enable the display of captions (see Enabling the captions showing) and configure the Captioner object beforehand (see Configuring captions display on a video image).
To enable captions with information about the video stream displayed in the Surveillance window, you must add the ShowDisplayingFps=1 parameter to the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AxxonSoft\PSIM\Debug (see Axxon PSIM base version and Adding string parameters to the registry).
As a result, captions with the following information are displayed:
Parameter | What the parameter displays |
---|---|
The first line without the parameter name always displays the frame rate of the camera stream. It is measured in frames per second (FPS). If the camera is multithreaded, additional lines below are added | |
Displaying FPS | The frame rate at which the current stream is actually displayed on the screen. It is measured in frames per second (FPS) |
Stream ID | Stream name |
Codec | Current name of a codec. The name is taken from the stream |
Resolution | Resolution of the stream received from the server. It is measured in pixels |
FPS | Resulting frame rate of the stream. The frame rate is taken from the stream parameters on the server. It is measured in frames per second (FPS) |
BPS | Current bitrate of the stream, MB/s |
GOP | Number of intermediate frames between key frames |
Render | Display type of the monitor |
Each parameter is in a separate line of captions.
Note
If the Debug mode is enabled (see The Settings panel of the Axxon PSIM section), the FPS of the digitized video signal is displayed in the Video surveillance monitor (see Actual frame rate). Thus, the key allows comparing these values.
