Requirements for the operation of the License plate recognition IV and its sub-detectors are given in the table:

Camera
  • Minimum video resolution is 640*480, recommended resolution is 720p or 1080p
  • Minimum frame rate is 15 FPS, recommended frame rate is 25–30 FPS
  • Autofocus and zoom would be useful for making small adjustments after configuring the detector
  • IR for night mode with good contrast of license plate images
  • HDR or WDR
  • In order to recognize state license plates on high-speed roads, the camera must have the Global Shutter mode

Attention!

Correct operation of the detector isn't guaranteed if you use frames that were masked before they got into Axxon One by an IP camera or similar methods.

Lighting
  • Lighting in the scene is at least 50 lux. In conditions of insufficient or excessive lighting (night or light-striking), stable operation of the analytics isn't guaranteed
  • No abrupt changes in lighting

Scene and camera angle

  • Camera must be mounted at 0.6–2.4 meters above the ground
  • Angle formed by the lower line of the license plate and the horizon line must be from 0 to 20 degrees
