To provide distributed system operation, Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations interaction are to be configured. Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations interaction means database replication (for Servers and Remote Admin Workstations only) and event exchange. For each Server, Remote Admin Workstation and Remote Monitoring Workstation lists are to be composed of interacting and non-interacting Servers, Remote Admin Workstations and Remote Monitoring Workstations.
Configuration of the surveillance system interaction is performed from the administering server or, in the presence of dedicated subnets, from the node server or Remote Admin Workstation.
To configure the interaction between the distributed system components, do the following:
If the box next the Connection column and the row, corresponding to the Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation is checked, then the data on system configuration of the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation with any Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation is exchanged. To forbid exchange of configuration data with the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation, set the checkbox in the Connection column unchecked.
Server or Remote Admin Workstation always exchange configuration parameters with Remote Monitoring Workstation, even if the Connection checkbox is unchecked for this Remote Monitoring Workstation. |
If the box next to the Send events column and the row, corresponding to the Server or Remote Admin Workstation is checked, then events are exchanged between selected Server or Remote Admin Workstation and any Server or Remote Admin Workstation. To forbid event exchange with the selected Server, Remote Admin Workstation or Remote Monitoring Workstation, set the checkbox in the Send event column unchecked.
Server or Remote Admin Workstation always exchange configuration parameters with Remote Monitoring Workstation, even if the Send events checkbox is unchecked for this Remote Monitoring Workstation. |
In order to set all checkboxes in the Connection or Send events columns, highlight a box in the required column and click Ctrl+A. To set all the checkboxes unchecked, highlight a box and click Shift+A. |
Interaction of the distributed video surveillance system components is now configured.
Let’s consider setup of a Server and Remote Monitoring Workstation connection via video gate as an example. A diagram of interaction of relevant components is shown in the figure.
Videogate is used in large distributed video surveillance systems for routing the video signals among servers and clients (or administrator workstations used as operator workstations) located in different subnetworks. See General information on the videogate for details. |
According to the diagram, shown in the figure above, interaction must be disabled between the server (SERVER1) and Remote Monitoring Workstation (MN1). As a result, the Architecture tab is to display the settings:
The Remote Monitoring Workstation (MN1) Computer object in the Hardware tab in the System settings dialog box on the server (SERVER1) will not be displayed in the Intellect software package.
However, if the Send events checkbox is set (the Connection checkbox is to be deselected), the Computer object corresponding to the Remote Monitoring Workstation (MN1) will be displayed on the Hardware tab on Server (SERVER1) tab but it will be marked with and the object name will be highlighted by grey color. This indicates that administering of the given object is forbidden.
