The RTSP-Server object is to be created and configured and all the required cameras are to be added to it before configuring the ONVIF-Server module - see Configuring RTSP Server module.

The ONVIF-Server object is created under the Computer object in the Hardware tab of the System settings dialog box.

Configure the ONVIF-Server object as follows:

1. Go to the settings panel of the ONVIF-Server object.
   
2. Specify the port number used to connect to the Server (1).
3. Select the network interface used to connect to the Server in the IP-interface dropdown list (2).
4. In the RTSP-Server dropdown list select the RTSP-Server used along with this ONVIF-Server (3).
5. In the Brand (4) and Model (5) fields specify the names that will be displayed while searching in various clients that support getting the stream over ONVIF, e.g. ONVIF Device Manager.
6. By default, ONVIF 1.X is in use to transmit video in MPEG, MJPEG and H264 formats. If video in H265 or H264 format is to be transmitted, then set the Use Media2 service checkbox checked (6).
7. Set the Allow DHCP setting checkbox checked if DHCP protocol is in use (7).

8. By default, the WS-Discovery mode is enabled for ONVIF-Server. Set the Discovery mode checkbox unchecked in order to disable it (8).

   All the applications using port 3702 must be shut down on the computer where the ONVIF-Server is started for proper operation of the Discovery mode. Processes and ports occupied by them can be seen using the Netstat -ano -p udp command.

   
   

9. In the Department dropdown list select the department where the users will be created when they are added via the ONVIF-Server interface (9).

   Users are created in the ONVIF-Server interface using the third-party software, e.g., ONVIF Device Manager. The Administrator rights are required to create users – see Configuring rights to use ONVIF Server.

   
   

10. Click the Apply button (10).

    The ONVIF-Server object is now configured. Now it is possible to configure getting video using the ONVIF-Server module.
