1. Configure displaying of the Operator protocol interface box.
   
   
   1. Set the X (horizontally indented from screen’s left border) and Y (vertically indented from screen’s upper border) coordinates of the upper left corner of the Operator protocol interface box. Coordinates are set as a percentage of the corresponding screen dimensions horizontally and vertically as follows (1).  
   2. Set the dimensions of the Operator protocol interface box: window’s width «W» and window’s height «H». Dimensions are set as a percentage of the corresponding screen dimensions horizontally and vertically as follows (2). 
   3. Set the Allow moving checkbox if the position and size of the Operator protocol interface box are to be changed manually (3). 
   4. In the Monitor dropdown list select the the system ID of a monitor for which the coordinates are set and on which the Operator protocol  interface box is to be displayed (4). 
2. In the Chief interfaces list set the checkboxes chacked next to Operator protocol objects to which events are to be sent when the specified time period expires (5).
3. In the Map dropdown list select the precreated Map object for event monitoring (6).

4. From the Video drop-down list (7), select the method of the video displaying from the operator’s protocol:

   1. ActiveX - archive and live video will open in a separate window. 

   2. Monitor - archive and live video will open on the selected Video Surveillance Monitor.

5. In the Wait for the operator response field specify the time period at the end of which an event will have the Non-processed event type or it will be escalated (8). Time period is set in minutes – non-integer values can be set (use the decimal point to separate integer and fractional parts). For instance, specify 0.5 to set the waiting period for response equal to 30 seconds.

6. In the Store ___ events field, set the maximum of events displayed in the Operator protocol interface box (9). 

   The number of events displayed in the Operator protocol interface box affects the main memory capacity. If 100 non-processed events are displayed in the interface box, then the Operator protocol module can use up to 200 Mb of main memory. When the value of the Store ___ events parameter is increased, the main memory capacity is increased too.

   
   

7. If the decision on the event classification is to be delayed once for the operator, then in the Delay decision making  for ____ minutes field specify the time period (in minutes) for which the event procession will be delayed (10). The time period is specified in minutes, though noninteger values can be set - in this case the dot is used to separate integer and noninteger parts of the number. For instance, to delay decision making for 15 seconds 0.25 is to be specified in the field. 
8. If events are to be sorted by priority (not by time they are received) in the Operator protocol, then set the Sort by priority checkbox checked (11). The descending sorting is performed in this order: Escalated, Alarm, Information and Standard (three latest event parameters can be set in the DDI file - see The Events tab). 
9. Set the New events at the end checkbox checked if new events are to be added to the end of the list of current events (12).
10. If after processing an event in one of Operator protocols it is to be removed from other Operator protocols, then set the Close elsewhere checkbox checked (13).
11. If the processing of all events is to be confirmed with a password, set the Password for closing checkbox  checked (14).
12. If autoswitch to the Current events tab when a new event occurs is to be performed in the Operator protocol, then set the Autoswitch checkbox checked (15).

13. If it is necesary to automatically activate the last received event, set the Autoactivation of last event checkbox (16).

14. By default, the comment entered by the operator when assigning a type to an event, is not deleted. If it is necessary to clear the comment field after processing the event, set the Clear comment checkbox (17).

15. By default, the alarms are displayed in the Operator Protocol window as the tiles of a specified size. If it is necessary to enlarge the alarm tile to the entire window size (except for the event control panel), set the Fit window size checkbox (18).

16. If it is necessary to prohibit the Operator from processing all alarms at once, set the Hide "Apply to all" checkbox (19).

17. In the Objects table specify the objects the events from which are to be received and processed (20).
    

    1. Select the object type in the list of the Type column.

       Only objects for which the "INFORMATION" or "ALARM" value is selected in the Processing messages column on the Events tab in the ddi.exe utility are available for selection (see The Events tab section).

       
       

    2. In the list of the Number column select the object id. The object name will be set automatically. If the object number is not specified, then events from all objects of selected type will get to the protocol. After you select the type and number, the Name field will be automatically filled with the object name.

    3. In the list of the Event type column select events that are to be displayed in the protocol box. If the event type is not specified, then all events registered by the selected object will get to the protocol. 

    4. If the processing of an event is to be confirmed with a password, select the Yes value in the Request password dropdown list. If there is no need to confirm the processing with a password, select the No value in this dropdown list. 

       If the processing of all events is to be confirmed with a password, set the Password for closing checkbox checked (14).

       
       

    5. In the Region dropdown list select the Section object corresponding to the object. 
    6. If an event of specified type is to be received and processed only when its specific parameter has a specific value, then set the parameter and value in the Parameter and Value fields respectively.
    7. If it is necessary to display the helping guide about the event processing, in the Help file field specify the full path to the text file in pdf, doc, docx, txt or other format which contains the required information. The Operator will be able to access the helping guide upon request. The installed application for viewing the files of the corresponding type is required to open the helping guide.

18. Repeat actions described in step 9 for all required objects. To add a line go to the last line of the table and click the ↓ key. 

    To remove the lines from the table use the Ctrl + Del key combination.

    
    

19. In the Parameters table, specify additional settings for an object event. These settings are to be displayed in the Operator protocol interface box (21).
    
    1. In the Parameter field, set the parameter name. To specify the parameters sent by the event use a debug box or a ddi file.
    2. In the Description field, set a short description of the parameter.

20. In the Checklist table, enter the description of the actions that the operator must perform before assigning the status to an event (22). These actions will be displayed in a special field in the Operator Protocol interface, and the Operator will be able to mark their completion.

21. In the DB tab configure the connection to the database server (5).
    

    Parameters set at INTELLECT ™ software installation are used by default to connect to the database server.

    1. In the Server field set the name of the database server to connect to (1).

       Working in the distributed configuration it is needed to enter the name of computer without the (local) value where the database is stored. For example, "WS1\SQLEXPRESS", where WS1 is the name of computer on which the database is stored.

       
       

    2. In the Folder field set the name of the database to store events (2).
    3. In the User field set the username for the authorization on the database server (3).
    4. In the Password field set the password for the authorization on the database server (4).

22. On the Interface tab (4), configure the interface settings:

    

    1. From the Frame drop-down list, select the frame color of the active event tile (1).

    2. If it is necessary to set the custom names for the alarm processing buttons, enter the button names in the left fields of the Situation buttons group (2).

    3. If it is necessary to assign the hot keys for the alarm events processing, set the cursor in the right field of the Situation buttons group (3) and press the required key combination. It is allowed to combine the Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys with any other keys on the keyboard. For example, the Ctrl+Shift+Alt+A or the Ctrl+A shortcuts are allowed, but the D+A or D+Ins shortcuts are not allowed, etc.

23. To save the settings click the Apply button.

The Operator protocol object is now configured.
