User accounts are stored separately from operator accounts in Axxon PSIM. The same permissions can be assigned to several operators. The operator can be assigned only single permissions.

To assign permissions and a password to the operator for authorization in Axxon PSIM, do the following:

  1. Go to the Users tab in the System settings window.
  2. To add the operator to the user permissions, you can use either of two ways:
    1. The first way:
      1. In the objects tree located in the lower left corner, select the User permissions object corresponding to the permissions account that must be assigned to the operator.
      2. In the Department objects tree, open the context menu by right-clicking the name of the selected user.
      3. Select the Add to rights "User permissions" command in the menu.
    2. The second way:
      1. In the objects tree located in the lower left corner, select the User permissions object corresponding to the permissions account that must be assigned to the operator.
      2. Select the Add to rights command by right-clicking the selected object.

As a result, the Add user window is displayed on the screen.
  3. If you want to use the Windows OS account for the user authorization in Axxon PSIM, set the Windows authorization checkbox (4) and select the name of the account from the User list (5).

When you select this way of authorization, all other fields aren't edited. Also, you mustn't enter any data in the login and password query panel when starting or shutting down Axxon PSIM. To start Axxon PSIM when a password is requested, click the Registration button. To shut down Axxon PSIM, click the Shutdown button.

  4. Select the operator account in the User (2) drop-down list or use Filter by department (1), after which select the name of the registered account for the operator from this department.
  5. In the Login field (3), specify the login that is assigned to the operator for identification in Axxon PSIM.
  6. In the Password field (6), specify the password that is assigned to the operator for authorization in Axxon PSIM.

Without a password, access permissions aren't assigned to the operator.

  7. Repeat the operator password in the Confirmation field (6).
  8. Configure the rules of password change by the user:
    1. Set the Change password on first access checkbox (7) to ask the user to change the password on the first login to the system.
    2. Set the Change password every __ months checkbox (8) to ask the user to change the password periodically. After you set the checkbox, the text field becomes editable. Enter the request period of password change in months.
    3. Set the Change password on user request checkbox (9) if you want to allow the user to change its password at any system startup.
  9. If you want to confirm the user login in the system by another user, select it from the Supervisor drop-down list (10).

The user-supervisor must be added to permissions.
If the system uses the authorization type by the four-eyes rule (that is, with the supervisor confirmation), all system users, including supervisors, must log in to the system by login and password instead of the Windows user account (see 4-8 steps).
  10. Click the OK button (11).
  11. The object with the name of the user account registered for the operator is displayed in the child branch of the User permissions object.

Assigning permissions and a password to the operator for authorization in Axxon PSIM is complete.
