To set up the captioner search, the following parameters should be specified:

  1. search depth – the captioner search depth;
  2. highlighting a found word – the option for highlighting the found words in the search results;
  3. video source – select an archive from which video data is received: main or backup archive.

Storing captions can be disabled by NoSaveTitles registry key – see Registry keys reference guide.

To specify the captioner search criteria, do the following:

  1. Enter the archive search depth (in days) in the Default search depth field (1).

  2. To enable highlighting of found words, double-click the Highlight found words color box and select the color in the standard Windows color selection box that opens (2).

  3. In the Video source: dropdown list select an archive from which video data is displayed as search results: video server main or backup archive (3).

    If the backup archive is selected as the Video source, and not all cameras have records in it, then only the search results for cameras that have records in the backup archive will be displayed.

    If there is no backup archive for all cameras, but it is selected as the Video source, the archive from the video server for all cameras is used by default.


  4. Click Apply (4).

The captioner search criteria are now set.
