You can mask any objects on the video image in the archive for certain users. 

The objects are masked:

To do this, set the No value for the View masked video parameter in the role settings (see Roles). The objects are masked for all users belonging to this role.

Privacy masks are displayed in the Client only. You cannot use masks in the Web-Client and mobile Client.

To mask an object in the archive, do the following:

  1. Go to Archive mode and find the object you want to mask (see Switching to the Archive mode). Go to the frame where the object first appears in the camera FOV (see Navigating in the archive).
  2. Click the  button.
  3. Select a shape for the mask: oval or rectangular.

  4. Apply the mask over the object.

  5. Locate the last frame before the object disappears from the camera FOV and place the mask over it. To save mask position, click the Add point button.
  6. The system automatically interpolates the mask position on intermediate frames, assuming that the object is moving straight and rectilinear. 

  7. View the video. If necessary, you can specify additional mask positions on intermediate frames for better masking. The system automatically re-interpolates mask positions within the video sequence.

    To remove a mask position, click the  button.

  8. After setting all necessary mask positions, enter your comment and click the Save button.

    After the mask is saved, you cannot delete it. Only the users who have the Yes value selected for the View masked video parameter can hide the mask when viewing the archive and exporting (see Roles).

The object is now hidden. When viewing the archive, users without appropriate access permissions see the object masked.
