Distribution package

The distribution package contains two files:

• update_server_install.exe is an installation file for the Update Server and Update Manager interface;
• update_agent_install.exe is an installation file for the Client part.

Installation procedure

The Update Server is installed on the computer that will distribute updates as the Update Server. The Update Agent is installed on each computer that requires automatic updates in the future (i.e. on the Agents).

Any computer can be an Update Server even if it doesn’t have Intellect installed. Any Intellect Servers, Remote Administrator’s workstations, Remote Clients can be Agents (the differences are described in Configuration procedure for servers, clients and remote workstations).

Installing the Update Server

1. Run the update_server_install.exe file.

2. In the UpdateServer window that opens, select the installation path for the Update Server. The default installation path is C:\ProgramData\UpdateServer.
   
   

3. Click the Yes button.

As a result, the Update Server and Update Manager will be installed in the selected folder. The Update Manager shortcut will appear on the desktop.

Installing the Update Agent

1. Run the update_server_install.exe file.

2. In the UpdateAgent window that opens, select the installation path for the Update Agent. The default installation path is C:\Users\%User%\AppData\Roaming\UpdateAgent.
   
   

3. Click the Yes button.

As a result, the Update Agent will be installed in the selected folder. Its icon will appear in the tray:
