To configure the Detector of atypical changes in the scene VI, do the following:

  1. Go to the Detection Tools tab.
  2. Below the required camera, click Create…  Category: Service Detector of atypical changes in the scene VI.

By default, the detection tool is enabled and set to generate events when there are changes not typical for the scene, such as overexposure, darkening, or defocusing.

If necessary, you can change the detection tool parameters. The list of parameters is given in the table:

ParameterValueDescription
Object features
Record objects trackingYesThe metadata of the video stream is recorded to the database by default. To disable the parameter, select the No value
No
Video streamMain streamIf the camera supports multistreaming, select the stream for which detection is needed
Other
EnableYesBy default, the detection tool is enabled. To disable, select the No value
No
NameDetector of atypical changes in the scene VIEnter the detection tool name or leave the default name
Background accumulationYes

By default, scene background accumulation is enabled. To disable, select the No value

No
Backlight reaction time (sec)
0
Specify the time interval in seconds after which the detection tool signals that the scene is overexposed or darkened. The appropriate value should be determined empirically. The value must be in the range [0, 999999999]
Decoder modeAutoSelect a processing resource for decoding video streams. When you select a GPU, a stand-alone graphics card takes priority (when decoding with Nvidia NVDEC chips). If there is no appropriate GPU, the decoding will use the Intel Quick Sync Video technology. Otherwise, CPU resources will be used for decoding

Defocus reaction time (sec)
0
Specify the time interval in seconds after which the detection tool signals that the scene is defocused. The appropriate value should be determined empirically. The value must be in the range [0, 999999999]
Detection modeCPUSelect the processor for the detection tool operation (see Selecting Nvidia GPU when configuring detectors)
Nvidia GPU 0
Nvidia GPU 1
Nvidia GPU 2
Nvidia GPU 3
Number of execution threads4Specify the number of execution threads. The value must be in the range [0, 100]
Number of frames processed per second12

Specify the number of frames processed per second. Value should be in range [0.016, 100]

The detector operates optimally with the default value for most use cases. Changing this value may reduce the detector's performance quality.

Saving backgroundYes

By default, saving the scene background is enabled. To disable, select the No value

Background files are automatically saved to the directory C:\ProgramData\VideoIntellect\. The size of this folder can quickly increase, potentially filling up all available space on the C drive. It is not possible to set a limit on the maximum volume of this directory, so it’s important to periodically check its contents and clear it if necessary.

No
State saving interval0Specify the state saving interval in seconds. The value must be in the range [0, 9999]
TypeDetector of atypical changes in the scene VIName of the detection tool type (non-editable field)

In the preview window, you can specify the detection areas using the anchor points (see Configuring a detection area).

  • For convenience of configuration, you can "freeze" the frame. Click the button. To cancel the action, click this button again.
  • The detection area is displayed by default. To hide it, click the button (see Configuring a detection area). To cancel the action, click this button again.

To save the parameters of the detection tool, click the Apply  button. To cancel the changes, click the Cancel  button.
