When you use Forensic Search in archive, the video parameters must meet the same requirements as for detection tools.

In addition, there is a dependence of the minimum and maximum allowable speed of object movement in the video image on the camera frame rate:

  1. The maximum speed depends on the size of an object. The following table shows the dependence of the maximum allowable speed on the frame rate for typical objects—human and car:

    Frame rate

Maximum allowable speed of a human

Maximum allowable speed of a car

    6 FPS

    5 km/hr

    40 km/hr

    12 FPS

    10 km/hr

    85 km/hr

    25 FPS

    20 km/hr

    170 km/hr

So if it is necessary, for example, to detect people moving at a speed of up to 10 km/hr, it is sufficient to record at 12 FPS.

  2. The minimum speed of object movement must be such that the object image shifts by at least 1 pixel per frame.
